Sergio Splendore

Sergio Splendore, Associate Professor - Università degli Studi di Milano. His fields of expertise are (hybrid and digital) forms of journalism (epistemology) and political communication (media trust). About this issues he published several articles in international peer review journals. He recently authored an Italian book titled: "Sociologia del giornalismo".

Diego Garusi

Diego Garusi is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Vienna. He is also part of the Italian team in the project “Worlds of Journalism Study”. His main research interests concern journalistic professional values, public perceptions of journalism, and news media trust. On these topics, he has co-authored several articles as well as conference presentations.

Livio Calabresi

Livio Calabresi

Livio Calabresi holds a degree in Philosophy and Theoretical Critical Studies from La Sapienza University of Rome and in International Political Theory from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland, UK). He obtained the European Doctorate (Doctor Europaeus) in Communication, Social Research, and Marketing from the CORIS department of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".

He uses mixed methodological approaches (quantitative-qualitative) in various forms for different projects: content analysis, audience analysis, and various types of surveys. He favors a semantic-narratological perspective, which is the theoretical foundation of his main research focuses: storytelling, social/connective imaginary, and strategic communication (StratCom).

In addition to his academic path, he has been working for years as a trainer and professional in digital communication (Copywriter, UX Writer, and Content Designer) and as an author of fiction for young people. His professional experiences extend his interests to new modes of use and human-machine interaction, applications of artificial intelligence, gamification logic, experiments in the metaverse, and new forms of communication and hybrid journalism.

Giovanni Fulantelli

Giovanni Fulantelli

Giovanni Fulantelli is senior researcher at the Institute for Educational Technology at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), and contract professor at the LUMSA University, where he holds a course in ‘Digital technologies for learning’. In 2005 he was awarded as one of the best young researchers at the CNR. 

His research interests are inspired, on the one hand, by the open education movement, and the principle that technologies must and can guarantee universal access to quality education; on the other hand, by the awareness that the rapid diffusion of social media and AI-based solutions requires special attention to avoid compromising the potential for educational development and personal growth offered by digital technologies.

Davide Taibi

Davide Taibi

Davide Taibi is a senior researcher at the Institute for Educational Technology of the National Research Council of Italy. Since 2001, he has been conducting research in the field of educational technology applications in various educational contexts. His main research interests focus on the applications of the Semantic Web, Learning Analytics, Extended Reality, social media, and artificial intelligence in education. He has participated as a partner in several projects funded by the European community and has coordinated two EU-funded projects in the field of Data Literacy. He is also a contract professor teaching Open Data Management at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Palermo

Paola Denaro

Paola Denaro

Paola Denaro graduated in Economics at Palermo University in 1999.

She has been working as a technologist at the Italian National Research Council since 2006. She is responsible for the financial management, monitoring and reporting of research projects funded by local, national and European bodies. 

Currently, she holds the position of financial project manager and is responsible for all financial and contractual aspects of projects funded by the EU. She is also involved in the design and reporting of European projects

Giovanni Todaro

Giovanni Todaro graduated as Industrial Expert in Electronics and Telecommunications in 1998.

Since 2001 he has been a Technical Collaborator of Research Institutions at the National Research Council, Institute for Educational Technologies, secondary branch of Palermo. 

He currently holds the role of webmaster of the websites of ITD-CNR projects and software programmer.

Paulo Ferracioli

Paulo Ferracioli

Paulo Ferracioli holds a PhD in Political Science from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil and a master's degree in communication from the same institution. He has previously worked as a Post-Doc Researcher at the international project Pandemic Communication in Times of Populism, led by Loughborough University, UK. His main research interests are in the area of Political Communication, focusing on Political Journalism, Transparency and Internet, with recent publications in scientific journals such as Digital Journalism and Journalism.

Augusto Valeriani

Augusto Valeriani

Augusto Valeriani is an associate professor in Media Sociology at the Political and Social Sciences Department of the University of Bologna. His research focuses on political communication, digital media, and journalism. Augusto has authored four monographs and several book chapters on topics related to journalism studies, political communication and global communication, with a focus on digital media. His research has been published in several international scientific journals
